David W. Archibald, PLS is the owner of Earth Lines Consulting, LLC (Earth Lines). He has been a Professional Land Surveyor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (License No. SU075211) since 2008 and has been actively working in the land surveying industry since 1998. David has worked on a vast range of projects from single family homes to complex surveys for high-rise buildings and professional sports stadiums. Through this vast experience with companies ranging from small family owned businesses to prestigious engineering and surveying firms, he has the experience and knowledge to take on many types of projects.

The seeds that have grown into Earth Lines were planted in the depths of the Covid-19 pandemic, as an unfortunate furlough turned into a dream of starting a small business. Through networking and guidance from colleagues in the industry, the planning for Earth Lines led to an opportunity to join another small business for five years. 2026 brought focused clarity and the chance to make Earth Lines a reality. Our guardian, the fox, is humble servant of all he surveys.

Earth Lines utilizes Topcon Robotic Total Stations for high precision surveys on the ground. We operate Sokkia GNSS receivers utilizing a virtual reference network to accurately locate your survey on the earth and within her many coordinate systems. As needed, we work with our vendors to rent 3D Laser Scanners and their associated software for projects where that is the appropriate tool. With technology changing by the minute, we take education seriously and go above and beyond the required continuing education requirements to maintain licensure by deeply engaging and learning about the latest advances in techniques and technology.

David lives outside of State College, PA with with his wife and daughter and three four-legged fur babies. He loves to travel to see the world and visit his stepdaughter, sister, and family and friends worldwide whenever he can.
